It’s hard not to think of werewolf stories when we think of the MOON in horror, right? While there were quite a few chosen for the prompt, we definitely got a lot of variety! What do you think about the ones below?

We’re kicking off the MOON prompt with a photo and recommendation from our very own toni_the_reader. Through the Woods by Emily Carroll is a collection of nighttime stories.

Drunk_on_books shared Midnight Crossroad by Charlaine Harris, who may me best known for her Sookie Stackhouse/True Blood book series. Midnight Crossroad is the first book in another series for Harris known as Midnight, Texas and is full of all kinds of supernatural characters as well!

How aesthetically stunning is this cover that gowsy33 chose?! I can’t stand how much I love the colors and whimsical design. Pretty Marys All In A Row by Gwendolyn Kiste has been described by our own Scifiandscary as “a dark fantasy novella with roots in horror.” We are seeing more and more of Kiste popping up and WE ARE NOT COMPLAINING!

Spoilerssweetieno11 opened up a copy of The Widow’s House by Carol Goodman to show us. Goodman is the award-winning author of The Lake of Dead Languages and has been described as blending the styles of Daphne du Maurier and Charlotte Perkins Gilman. Go find out!

Our final selection for today’s recap of MOON is Chosen by P.C. Cast and Kristin Cast. Tamsparks shared with us this book and reminded our own findingmontauk just how much he loves the House of Night series! It’s almost like Harry Potter meets vampires and more (or so he says, anyway!) Chosen is the third book in the series that contains 12+ books and novellas.
