Ladies of Horror Fiction Awards

UPDATE: The Ladies of Horror Fiction team is now accepting submissions for the 2022 Ladies of Horror Fiction Awards!

Categories

  • Collection
  • Debut
  • Middle Grade
  • Novel
  • Novella
  • Poetry (collection or anthology)
  • Short Fiction
  • Young Adult

Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be a work of horror.
  • Open to all women and non-binary femmes.
  • Work must be originally published between January 2022 and December 2022. (No reprints will be considered.)

Submission Guidelines

  • Email an .epub version of your work to lohfawards@gmail.com
  • Include the title of the work in the body of your email
  • Include the author’s name in the body of the your email
  • Include the award category in the body of your email (If your work is a novel, be sure to let us know if the work is a debut.)
  • Include the word count in the body of your email
  • Include the publication date in the body of your email (and publication source if a short story)
  • We do not accept anthology submissions, but we do accept individual stories to be submitted for “Short Fiction”. If you email an anthology, you must declare which story is being submitted for “Short Fiction”. (Multiple stories from the same anthology are permitted as long as they are eligible.)
  • We do not accept omnibus submissions but we will gladly accept the individual books that were published for the first time during the award year.
  • Send a separate email for each eligible work
  • Must submit work by November 30, 2022. (Works published in December 2022 may be submitted by December 31, 2022.)

Awards Timeline

Awards will be announced in 2023.

Disclaimers

  • The LOHF team reserves the right to determine the genre of work and the category eligibility.
  • The LOHF team is comprised of book reviewers and writers. If your submitted work is read to completion, it is highly likely said work will be reviewed on the judge’s personal blog, the LOHF site (if it receives at least 3 stars or higher), Goodreads, Booklikes, and/or social media outlets. By submitting your work for awards consideration, you are also agreeing to be reviewed by members of the LOHF team if they are inclined to do so.
  • The LOHF Awards juries are comprised of undisclosed LOHF team members and additional jury members. No member of any LOHF Awards jury will read or vote on a work they were involved with writing, editing, procuring, promoting (paid), and/or publishing.
  • Ladies of Horror Fiction is a completely volunteer group. We reserve the right to modify the rules and timeline at any time as necessary.
